Meet Our Team

Elise Sims, MD is the physician at both offices of Alabama Wellness Physicians. She earned her medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and completed her internship in family medicine at the University of Louisville. While she is family medicine trained, her current areas of focus and passion are functional medicine, weight loss medicine, anti-aging and regenerative medicine. 
Dr. Sims has been married to her husband, Christopher, for 25 years and together they have three children-Macrae (19), Hawken (8) and Bear (6). In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and pets, gardening, reading, and working on her sourdough breads.

April Garrigan has been in healthcare for almost 20 years. First as a Patient Care Tech, then as a registered nurse and now a nurse practitioner. She obtained her masters from Auburn University. She has been practicing as a nurse practitioner for almost 13 years. She started in the ED at UAB, then did urgent care before deciding she was passionate about aesthetics. She has one puppy child, her name is Charlie.

Dawson Boggs serves as the Clinic Administrator overseeing both clinics. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in HR Management and Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Administration at Jacksonville State University. He is passionate about developing relationships with patients and ensuring their health journey is stellar. He is married to his wife Maggie who is a BCBA in Birmingham. Together they have a dog named Henry and a baby on the way named Luke Shepherd. They are members of NorthPark Baptist Church in Trussville!

Laina Dutton specializes in patient care and marketing, working remotely for both offices. Her top priority is to make every patient feel valued and to help them become the healthiest version of their self. She strives to ensure that every patient feels heard, understood, and motivated from their very first visit to their final milestone. She looks forward to meeting you and helping you on this health journey! Outside of work, you can normally find Laina traveling with her husband, Samuel, for his professional baseball career.

Haley Bonner is a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. Haley started her nursing career as a critical care nurse before finding her passion in weight loss and aesthetic nursing. Haley loves every aspect of helping patients reach their health and physique goals, and she values the relationships that are built along the way. When Haley is not at the clinic, she enjoys going to the gym, watching reality T.V.,  and spending time with her family and friends. She looks forward to meeting with you and helping you on your weight loss and aesthetics journey! 

Kayse Brown has over a decade of experience in the medical profession. With a strong passion for aesthetics, Kayse is committed to supporting individuals in enhancing their confidence and overall well-being. Kayse consistently strives to assist others in achieving their personal goals. Outside of her career, Kayse is devoted to her family. Kayse has three wonderful kids, —Trace (18), Liam (16), and Lexi (14) while being in a committed relationship with her partner, Jared (Bubba).

Genevieve Nance is a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelors of Science in Nutrition Wellness. Genevieve graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from South Alabama. She started her nursing career as a Labor and Delivery nurse. She continues to do this as well. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Peyton, little boy Sullivan, and dog Finn. She enjoys going on walks, shopping, and cooking. Genevieve knows that everyone's weight loss goals are different. She cannot wait to get to know you and help you achieve your personal goals. 

Hadleigh Livingston serves in patient care and is passionate about helping others feel their best. She loves being part of the Alabama Wellness team and enjoys building connections with our clients. Her top priority is making sure everyone feels welcome and cared for.
